Placement Cell
Dewan V.S. Group of Institutions is widely recognized by the companies as the key
source of professionals with strong managerial potential. The institute has an
active and efficient placement cell comprising a group of dynamic persons
who make dedicated attempts to find out gainful employment for its students in
reputed organizations of the country.
Our placement cell is working towards the ultimate goal of the
students’ employment in the industry. It identifies and
maintains the company databases and organizes guest lectures, seminars and
campus interviews.
Personality Development Workshops
The cell organizes activities and workshops that enables students to be team
leaders or team players. The students are
required to participate in mock interview
and personality development workshops that
focus on confidence-building, written
and oral communication, and leadership
qualities. The placement cell achieves
these goals by providing them multiple
opportunities to express themselves. At the end of each
session, the members of the cell provide the
students constructive feedback and
monitor the growth and development of
each student so that they are capable of taking an initiative
in any situation and would prove
an asset to any organization or venture that
they are associated with as professionals
from time to time cultural programmes are organized
by the students.
This not only gives confidence and courage to
them but also provides
a platform to the students to build up
their aptitude.
Industrial Visits & Training
Besides the placement cell organizes industrial visits and industrial
training for the students. All these activities enhance the
professional abilities of students and enable them to acquire jobs with best
employers in the professional world. The students gain tremendous exposure and
practical knowledge through these activities by means of preparing Project Report.
Summer Placement
The education of the budding managers is incomplete without an exposure in the real
working environment. The students are given opportunities to test out the
theoretical concepts learnt in the classroom.
The summer projects give an insigt to the actual working situations. This also helps the students
to explore career opportunities in the areas of their interest and develop a
realistic managerial prospective about organizations in their totality. All
the students of DIMS are required to undergo a 6-8 weeks summer training after the
completion of the first two semesters, in industrial and business organizations
the country after due consultation
with the specific organizations. The institute prefers that an organization puts
its students on a specific project which can be finished in 6-8 weeks.
Alternatively, he/she may be placed in a particular department where he/she can
gain a thorough knowledge of working in the department.
Every student is required to prepare a report in triplicate, one each for the
organization, the Institute and the student himself/herself. The report is to
be used for academic purpose only. Should the organization feel that the
project report is confidential in nature, the institute will treat it as such
and ensure that it is not kept in the library.
Placement Schedule
The permanent placement programme begins in December and ends in May. The
process consists of mailing the Placement Brochure containing a brief bio-data of
the students with their photographs and area of specialization to leading
organizations. Prospective employers send their relevant job details such as
job description and responsibility, desired qualifications/experience, place of
appointment, compensation package etc. Organizations schedule their
recruitments during this time in coordination with placement cell of the
institute. Organizations make presentations about the job description,
remuneration package, scope of growth etc. Placement cell renders all possible
services to the organizations for smooth conduct of the selections and
recruitment activities i.e. pre-placement negotiations, written tests, group
discussions and interviews.
